The Corneometer and SkiCon measure the electrical properties of the upper layers of skin — the more moisture is present, the higher the measured value. The measurement is taken in contact with the skin and provides quick results.
Another indicator of skin dryness is the determination of skin flakiness. With the help of special adhesive films (D-Squames), loose skin flakes are removed from the skin surface and then objectively measured under a microscope or visually assessed.
Moisturizers help to supply the skin with sufficient water, prevent dryness, and make it look smoother and fresher. At the same time, they protect against external influences and support the skin in regenerating itself.
