WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE MEASURING DEVICE AND THE SKINLY APP IS LOST?

The SkinlyApp shows you that no connection to the measuring device can be established. However, the measuring device's Wi-Fi symbol is permanently lit in white.

Establishing the connection

  • Restart your Wi-Fi router. 
  • Wait until the Wi-Fi connection is stable. 
  • Now start a new measurement in the SkinlyApp by tapping on “New measurement.” Leave the measuring device switched off. 
  • The app will now notify you that there is no connection. 
  • You may need to click “Repeat” twice before you can reconfigure your Wi-Fi. This may take a little time. 
  • Select your Wi-Fi network, enter your Wi-Fi password, and click “Continue.” 
  • Now start the measuring device by briefly pressing the on/off button. 
  • Place the switched-on measuring device on the QR code. Do not press the on/off button. 
  • The measuring device and the app will now connect automatically. You will be notified of this shortly afterwards in the app. 
  • You can now start your measurement.
     

HOW DO I MEASURE WITHOUT THE SKINLY APP?

If the connection cannot be established, you can perform a measurement without SkinlyApp as follows.

Measurement without SkinlyApp

  • Turn on the charged measuring device and wait until the Wi-Fi symbol lights up white and the on/off button lights up blue (the measuring device is ready). 
  • Now place the measuring device on the area of skin you want to measure first to start the measurement and press the on/off button.
  • The first vibration signals that the measurement is starting; after approx. 6-8 seconds, the measuring device vibrates again. 
  • The measurement on this area of skin is now complete. 
  • You can now follow the measurement history as usual. The measuring device then takes approx. 30-60 seconds to upload the data. The on/off button will then light up green. Shortly afterwards, the measurement data will be automatically updated in the SkinlyApp.
     

HOW DO I MEASURE WITHOUT WIFI?

When you are far away from any Wi-Fi access...

Measurement without Wi-Fi

  • You can also take measurements without a Wi-Fi connection. In this case, you do not need the SkinlyApp, only the measuring device.
  • Press the on/off button on your measuring device and hold it down for approx. 10 seconds. You will feel three slight vibrations. The measuring device is now ready for offline measurement. In this case, the Wi-Fi symbol will light up red.
  • Start your measurement on your first skin area by briefly pressing the on/off button. Wait until the measuring device vibrates again. The measurements on this skin area are then complete. 
  • Repeat this process on the other skin areas.
     

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE MEASURING DEVICE CANNOT BE SWITCHED OFF?

If your Skinly device cannot be turned off, you can reset it.

Reset

  • First, make sure that the device is charged. If you are unsure, charge it again for 4 hours. 
  • To reset the device, use a paper clip and press the reset button. You will feel a small pin inside the opening. Press this pin for about 10 seconds. Repeat the process a second time if you find that your problem persists.
