Legal Information in Accordance with Art. 13 and Art. 14 GDPR

With this data protection notice, we would like to inform you about the processing of personal data by Beiersdorf AG ("Beiersdorf") in the database for study participants.

The legal basis for the above-mentioned processing is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 a), 9 para. 2 a) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as the legal research privilege in accordance with Art. 9 para. 2 j) GDPR in conjunction with § 27 BDSG.

Recipients:
Beiersdorf transfers the collected data for processing to the respective internal departments as well as to other affiliated companies within the Beiersdorf Group or to external service providers, processors (e.g. IT platform operators, analysis partners, contact persons for test persons) in accordance with the necessary purposes (study implementation and research), in each case also in European or non-European third countries. Standard contractual clauses have been concluded with these external service providers, unless they are located in countries with an adequacy decision in accordance with Article 45 of the General Data Protection Regulation, and/or the transfer has been legitimised by the explicit consent in the consent text. In this context, so-called special categories of personal data may also be transferred to third countries in accordance with Art. 9 GDPR. (Third countries are countries outside the EU/EEA that usually do not offer an adequate level of protection).

However, in the event of a legal obligation, the controller reserves the right to disclose information about you if it is required to disclose it by lawful authorities or law enforcement agencies.

Duration of data storage:
Personal data will be stored in the database for study participants until your consent is withdrawn. Furthermore, it will be deleted after 5 years of inactivity (no study participation).

Your rights:
You can object to the use of your personal data at any time for the future, request a correction or partial or complete deletion, request information about the data we have stored about you, a restriction of processing or a transfer of your data. Due to the research privilege, these rights of data subjects can be restricted in accordance with Section 27 (2) BDSG.

In the event of your withdrawal/objection, your personal data will no longer be processed and will subsequently be deleted by us, unless further processing with the personal data is required, permissible or compatible under the applicable data protection laws (in particular under the General Data Protection Regulation) or any other legal provision. This applies in particular to further processing for scientific research purposes due to the legal research privilege.

In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time.
