Beiersdorfs corporate success has always been based on excellent research and development. In a way, innovation is in our DNA. For over 135 years, Beiersdorfs scientists have been researching the complex processes of the skin and developing skin care products that offer real added value for our consumers.

At our research center in Hamburg, around 700 scientists are dedicated to research and development. Essentially, this is where basic research is carried out. By gaining a better understanding of the skins own (metabolic) processes, the scientists in our product development department have an ideal basis for developing products that are perfectly tailored to consumer needs, for example, with new active ingredients or using new technologies.

Closeness to our consumers is a decisive key to our success. In our Study Center in Hamburg, we use various methods, technologies, and test designs to prove the effectiveness of our products. With the help of cell cultures and study participants, we can quickly and statistically reliably describe the mechanisms of action and incorporate them into the development of new innovative products. At the same time, we can better understand the habits of our consumers.
